Most people don’t equate politics with wedding planning, but it’s not unheard of. Here’s the thing: we’re living in unusual and unprecedented times. In most states, you still can’t get a haircut or go to a restaurant to sit down and eat. With a vaccine months, if not years, away, you might be asking yourself how this upcoming election is going to change things.
Democratic front runner and former Vice President Joe Biden, has been quick to criticize the Trump administration not doing enough to protect Americans, so you have to think that the potential Biden administration would want to do more. President Trump, however, is quick to change his mind and could put restrictions back in place just as quickly as they came down.
This could be more lockdowns, more rules, and more restrictions that will not go away until the curve isn’t just ‘starting’ to flatten, but is down. A real fear, too, is that if more restrictions are placed, vendors could simply have to close up shop, causing you to lose that dream caterer or photographer.
It’s too soon to say, but yes: the presidential election could have a serious impact on your wedding. Pay attention, and vote smart.
