Sir Elton John would go over the top for his wedding, of course. However, his nuptials were pretty affordable compared to the rest of these couples!

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West – $2.8 mil

If any celeb pair was to spend ungodly amounts of money on a lavish wedding, it would be Kim and Kanye. I’m actually surprised they didn’t spend more!

What cost so much? Well, first of all, it was a destination wedding in Florence, Italy. Oh, and they flew their guests to a casual pre-party in Paris at the Palace of Versailles.

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello – $4 mil

This 2015 wedding at a luxury resort in Palm Beach, FL managed to cost more than Kim and Ye’s European wedding tour. Sofia and Joe particularly wanted to share the experience with their fans and make sure lots of fun was had, and that lots of photos were available for them to share. When you’re doing it for the ‘gram, you gotta do it big.

George Clooney and Amal Almuddin – $4.6 mil

So that’s where that Nescafé ad money goes! George and Amal managed to spend only about $600,000 more than Sofia and Joe, but they brought their guests to Venice, Italy a la Kim and Kanye.

Oh, and they hosted the ceremony at a seven-star luxury hotel called the Aman Canal Grande. The guest list included Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Anna Wintour, Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, Bill Murray, and Bono.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries – $10 mil

This list would not be complete if Kim Kardashian weren’t on it twice. While it’s surprising that Kim didn’t want to spend more on her second wedding than her first, the couple did promote the event through a two-part special for the E! network, so they made money off the nuptials.

Many rumors still circulate that the whole affair was a publicity stunt to raise Kim’s profile. I buy it, because it totally worked!

Prince William and Kate Middleton – $34 mil

Sometimes I forget that the Royals are, like, the richest of the rich. William and Kate’s wedding cost over three times the amount of one of the most ridiculously expensive and over-the-top weddings in the U.S. With all those historic jewels, traditions, clothing, and horse-drawn carriages being the norm for them, it’s no wonder the costs add up.

Nope! Power couple Harry and Meghan topped William and Kate’s spending by $11 mil. Considering they decided to leave Royal life, I respect the fact that they went out with a major bang.
