Consider Donations Instead of Wedding Gifts

Covid-19 and the pandemic may have put a crimp in your big wedding plans this year. You may not feel like celebrating much these days, but remember, you have so much to be thankful and happy about! Even if your friends and family can’t be close, you know that they are there in their hearts and you are marrying the person you love most in the world.

If you want to make your wedding significant in these turbulent times, consider asking for donations in lieu of gifts. Many couples who are already well-established in their careers don’t need many new things, and they will ask for donations to causes that mean a great deal to them.

There are an enormous number of charities out there. With the unrest and difficulties in the US right now, you might consider asking for donations to Covid-19 relief funds, or to some of the organizations providing legal support for the protestors.

The Red Cross, the ACLU, or other established charities are probably best. Be sure to choose a charity that has a good track record. Or select a number of different charities and let your guests decide.
